Unfortunately, for scientific papers the author order is relevant.

Is it possible to arrange authors names in a specific order?

Additionally, it would be great, if all author names were submitted in an identical format, e.g. Lastname, Initial.

Several authors appear in multiple format (e.g. Last name, Surname; Last name, Initial; Surname Last name).

Can this be unified?

    • Author order is now preserved. When creating or editing an entry, you can drag authors (or use the up/down arrows) into the exact order you want, and that order is shown everywhere authors appear.

    • Consistent naming – there's now an admin tool to rename authors and merge duplicates, so the mixed formats (e.g. "Surname Lastname" vs "Lastname, Initial") can be unified safely without breaking existing links. New names are also normalized on entry.

    Bulk-standardizing the existing author list toward a single convention (Lastname, F. M.) will happen gradually via that tool and is tracked in a separate issue.
